Terms You Should Know
Warranty
Warranties
are contractual agreements between the Warranty company and the
new owner of a home. This warranty may vary in coverage
and limit of coverage, but generally will include :
Built-in Appliances
Cooling System
Electrical
system
Heating
System
Doors
& Window Operation
Garage
Door Openers & door operation
Plumbing
System
Roof
Covering
Coverage may vary from company to company,
so always ask for a copy of the actual items covered. Most contracts are for a one year time period
and may be renewed if the items are still warrantable. Most
contracts call for a minimal service deductible when service
is required . There is also a contractual limit to repair
costs during the year.
An inspection
will be done of the warranty items
prior to closing to insure that all systems are in warrantable
condition. This inspection should always be ordered as soon
as possible so any required repairs can be accomplished and a
re-inspection
can take place prior to closing .
